Tasting of NZ Sauvignons: M&S Kaituna Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Country of origin: New Zealand
Wine appellation: Marlborough
Vintage: 2014
Alcohol content: 13.0%
Color: watery yellow
Bouquet: white currant, gooseberry, elderberry
Taste: medium body, white grapefruit, hint of lime, medium acidity, some gooseberry, medium to longer finish
Overall score: 4+7.5+11+6.5+6.5=85.5
Price: CZK 209 on sale
Stopper: screw cap
Smells more oily and feels heavier and slightly fuller than Kaituna Blue with more astringency. Despite the fact that it is higher row than Kaituna Blue it is to me less preferable due to fuller body and lower acidity profile.
